While my attention has been pulled many directions, some with unnecessary tedium, the world changed this week, not completely unexpectedly. First let me say that not only did my first submission to the State for the self-employed assistance program didn’t go well, I ended up with a third submission that grew to 13 pages from the original six. It seems they have some scoring system and I didn’t score high enough the first time. What’s more is that they won’t tell you what the scoring is so you can’t even know what they want. Pretty outrageous. Thankfully I found a sweet person at the help center that gave me something to assist me. Fingers crossed while I wait another 5 weeks.
So I keep on applying for jobs and claiming my small amount of contract work/hours so they can pay me less than the full amount until something happens. In the meantime, I have run phone events and have yet to see any funds from those that were given away. The cherry to top the cake was when one of my vendors that I was going to run an event with on Monday called me and told me that she called to get her password reset and found out that they are pulling out of Oregon. Once again, I heard it from someone else. Truly, I am only happy. That last event that we ran was such chaos and so awful that I was totally fried and done. Now there is an LLC set up and ready to go and I just need a product or service to put under it.
I’m down to applying for part-time jobs so that I can freelance doing whatever on the side. This feels like a good fit, much happier than the 40 hour ball and chain, though not really sure why since in the end it is the same thing.
I also said a kind good-bye to a really nice guy I was seeing, but who will never be a fit for me.
Feeling free and thankful today,
Kiki
